Teens & Young Adults

Teen & Young Adult Therapy

I always applaud young people seeking counseling to solve their issues.  Isn’t it just SO much better to fix things now, rather than waiting 20 or 30 years, and having these problems affect one’s whole life.  Granted, sometimes the parents press their kids into counseling, but I find that once there, young people realize the value of having an unbiased person to hear them express anything and everything that they just can’t tell anyone else.  The confidentiality factor is very appealing to young people. I love being an advocate for teens who need to finish high school, who have some legal trouble, who have relationship problems, questions about sexuality, peer issues, who are in trouble with their parents (!), who need some answers about how to make it to the next level: adulthood.

  • Depression, Anxiety, Panic,

  • OCD, Abuse, Trauma, Loss

  • Conflict with Parents

  • Blended Family Issues

  • Relationships & Sexuality Issues

  • Self Image/Esteem

  • Coping with School and College

  • Spiritual Decisions

Young adults of college age into the 20’s are another group that I very much enjoy.  Developmentally, major decisions of life are getting figured out at this stage including things like choosing a life partner, completing an education, embarking on a new career, deciding on spiritual beliefs, becoming independent in every way: financially, emotionally, physically, etc.  The changes at this time in life are numerous and significant.   Many young people today are already carrying baggage from their youth that is interfering with the tasks at hand.

Always sooner than later is preferred, although its never too late to get help and direction.

“. . . I want to thank you for helping Rosa a while back – quick update – she’s 450 days clean, will have her masters in three months and is doing really well.  You did great work and were a blessing. I’ve often thought that and haven’t said it – so be encouraged my sister in Christ! You’re doing good work!”
